Our Staff & Volunteers

Hi everyone,

I am the Managing Director of THDA.

True Heights Dance Academy – officially known as True Heights Dance Company. A dream built into reality in 2012. Now 13 years on and we are still dancing, still dreaming and teaching kids why Dance is loved by many toddlers, kids and adults.

As well as owning and directing THDA I have 2 kids and one beautiful soul due in Nov 2025. I am also a manager for my husbands cleaning company.

I love all things pregnancy and birth. In my post-partum period with my daughter, I studied to become a birth Doula & I found my other calling (apart from Dance). I absolutely love being a Doula and supporting women in their most magical and sacred time.

They say wearing many hats is draining and that’s in fact true. But with support, boundaries and regular mini getways we have a flow, busy flow full of chaos. But I do love it!!

At dance we have always expressed to be you, love yourself and dream big and we continue to do this into the years that come. ❤️

Managing Director _ Pocket Rocket

Hi, my name is Alison,

My daughter Phoebe and I have been a part of the THDA family since 2016. Although Phoebe took a break from dancing in 2018, we were welcomed back to the fold with open arms in 2021 and Phoebe has just begun her eighth year of dancing.

Phoebe now teaches three classes for THDA and I have regularly offered my assistance to help out on the front desk when the incomparable Tabetha or Kristy are unavailable, and I assist with student sign in at concerts.

I cannot express how much gratitude and love I have for THDA’s staff in helping to develop Phoebe’s confidence, sense of belonging, and passion for dance. If you’re looking for a fun, enthusiastic, welcoming, budget-friendly, and inclusive dance company for your family, then look no further!

Dance Mum

Hi, I’m Tabetha, Ella’s mum.

Ella and I discovered THDA at a community event that they did a performance at back in 2017.

Ella first started with THDA at the Victor venue when it first opened its doors and we have not looked back since.

Ella expressed that she loved THDA during that first class saying that she can finally express herself through hip hop, unlike all the other genres she has done throughout her dancing career.

Ella now has classes at Victor, Aldinga and Goolwa.

I help out on the front desk and running around backstage at concerts. The girls also call me their Mumma and support system.

Ella and I love our dance family and wouldn’t be anywhere else.

THDA has a wonderful, inclusive energy that supports and encourages everyone who enters their doors.

Hi, I’m Miss Phoebe.

I’ve loved to dance the moment I could walk and have loved it ever since. My favourite dance style has to be Hip-Hop!

I’ve been dancing with TDHA for 8 years and have improved a lot with the lovely people I’m surrounded with at True Heights.

I’ve been teaching for 1 year now and I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to. The classes I teach are; Tiny groovers Hip-Hop on Wednesdays, Middle Jazz and Middle Hip-Hop on Thursdays.

I love the laughs we have together as a team and all the memories I’ve made so far at True Heights Dance Academy. I look forward to teaching new routines and meeting new students!

Hi!

My name is Jenna and I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old. I have been at THDA for the last five years. This year will be my 6th year here.

I love working with younger children and after being selected to be house captain at my school I can’t wait to gain more dance skills being teacher assistant for the Minis at Aldinga! Thanks, Kristy, for the opportunity.

I love coming to dance every Wednesday as it’s a chance to express myself outside of school in a creative way! THDA is my dance family, and I feel safe here.

I’m looking forward to working and learning how to be a dance teacher in the year to come with the Minis and I look forward to meeting new dancers 🙂

A Q&A With Our Assistant Coaches

What do our Assistant Coaches think of their role?

Well, here are some answers!

Recently management asked them the following Q’s and here are their responses.

What do you like most about being an AC with THDA? (Some responses may be reworded)

“Being given the opportunity to learn how to become a teacher one day” Jenna (Aldinga AC)

“Learning the Hip-Hop Basics and foundations and how to teach them to other dancers” Ella (Aldinga AC)

What do you gain from being an AC with THDA?

“Experience and more dance knowledge” Ella (Aldinga AC)

“Being able to express ourselves and our own ideas” Nikole (Aldinga AC)

We also asked them what would they like from management here at THDA?

“Tip sheets on how to gain control over classes when they are heightened or challenging?”

We supply our coaches with face to face copy cat coaching and onsite training from coach to coach; yes they can read a tip sheet to guide them but we believe face-to-face onsite training is more beneficial. We offer tip sheets (cheat sheets), where needed for our AC to be able to add to their learning and coaching skills.

Another staff member noted “Resume Experience” Which is important when building a resume for our young adults here at THDA. We are helping them add life experience to their resume.

It is always good to have these chats with our team and what a great team we have here at THDA.
